Director of Tennis Operations Bio
Prior to Ken's arrival in Cheyenne he was Head Tennis Professional at the Scottsbluff Country Club. His tennis teaching and playing background began in Orange County, California; where he taught at the Park & Rec and private club level.
He is currently serving his 2nd term as a WYOTA Board member and chairs their Diversity and Community Development Committees. He authored and helped implement the WYOTA Code of Ethics, and more recently the WYOTA Membership Drive Worksheet. He has served on various committees for the Nebraska Tennis Association, and the Mo. Valley and So Cal Sections. He was a certified Mo. Valley Clinician.
Currently he is Vice-Chairman of the ITA’s newly created Volunteer Committee and he serves on their Multicultural Participation Committee. He has worked with the Cheyenne Tennis Association in training their volunteers for their Tennis in the Schools Program. He founded the Western Nebraska Tennis Patrons and started their first NJTL Chapter.
In Scottsbluff he coached a Nebraska State Boys Singles Champion and worked with many Juniors who went on to play at the collegiate level. He has taught adults from beginner through tournament player in private and group settings. His teaching philosophy is based on traditional stroke production while embracing modern trends of movement and exercise science.
He is tested and certified at the Professional level of the PTA and is working towards the Master Professional designation. He is a graduate of the University of Denver, with a BSBA Degree in Finance. In the 1980’s managed and operated the family irrigated farm and feedlot west of Scottsbluff in the Mitchell Valley area, while still playing and teaching.
His goal is to leave tennis at the Cheyenne Country Club and the state of Wyoming in better shape than when he arrived. Off the court he likes to cook and watch really bad reality television. He is trying to master the golf swing and is plotting out a way to travel to Africa where he can float the Zambezi River with a camera. He can be reached at 307-637-2221 or firstname.lastname@example.org
